Design by Caro

Hi, I’m Caro (or Caroline if you’re my mom – hi mom 👋). I’m a Senior Designer working across brand, campaigns, packaging and physical brand experiences, with a background in luxury and retail. I enjoy getting to grips with the bigger picture behind a brief – understanding what a brand is trying to achieve, who it’s speaking to, and how design can make that happen.

My background spans design, business and marketing, which means I bring both creative and commercial thinking to my work. I’m interested in creating design that not only looks considered, but has a clear purpose and works as part of a wider brand.

About

I’m a Canadian expat who has called London home for the past 12 years. My career started in business and retail before moving into marketing and eventually design – giving me a strong commercial perspective that continues to inform how I approach creative work.

Early in my career, I completed an MSc in Fashion, Design & Luxury Management at Grenoble Graduate School of Business, which deepened my interest in the relationship between creativity, business and the luxury industry. A few years later, I decided to make a more deliberate move into design, completing an MA in Design for Visual Communication at the University of the Arts London in 2022.

I’ve been building my career in design ever since, joining the Selfridges Creative Studio in 2022. As a Senior Designer, I work across brand, campaigns, packaging and physical brand experiences, creatively leading and delivering projects from initial concept through to production. My work has spanned large-scale seasonal campaigns, pop-up spaces, branding, packaging, editorial, property and wayfinding.

My earlier experience in business, retail and marketing continues to shape how I work today. I’m naturally interested in the bigger picture behind a brief – understanding the audience, the commercial objective and the role design needs to play, as well as making the work itself.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me exploring London, planning my next trip, or trying to justify buying yet another notebook.
