Design by Caro

Hi, I’m Caro (or Caroline if you’re my mom – hi mom 👋️). I’m a graphic designer with a background in business, using this unique skillset to create strategic and considered design solutions. In addition to my creative skills and highly developed aesthetic sense, I have diverse experience across marketing, community development, event planning, sales, creative direction, and people management. These skills allow me to approach design holistically – considering not just aesthetics, but also the wider business implications.

CV

I was the lead designer on the graphic identity and in-store rollout of the Selfridges Big City Beauty campaign. The campaign, which celebrated the completion of the year-long Beauty Hall renovation project, featured photography from acclaimed photographer and filmmaker, Sam Youkilis. I developed the design language of the campaign, overlaying Youkilis’ work with Selfridges’ Franklin Gothic brand typeface in the iconic Selfridges yellow. Copy (written by the Selfridges brand voice team) playfully married features of big city life with everyday beauty rituals.

In-store, tiled imagery showcased these beauty vignettes at large scale. When considering graphic devices, elements of the city such as scaffolding and newspaper sandwich boards were used to house the graphics.
